EGR blanked & cheat fitted.poor fuel consumption

Hi everyone,

i have recently fitted an egr blanking plkate and cheater. also a TB clean was in order along with a new cts and thermostat to cure erratic temp gauge. Car runs like it is new now but im experiencing quite a drop in my fuel consumption. Same driving same roads no heavy footedness involved honest!! im getting 7 mpg less. is this a problem because of what ive done or is it just coincedence and a new problem?
any help would be appreciated.

coyuld it possibly be a lambda sensor do you think?

you have no engine management light ?

no smell of fuel ?

none as yet. im saying this as i still had my egr plugged in until i recieved cheat and it was coming on intermitently. but have cheat plugged in now but no sign as of yet of any lights what-so-ever, just poor fuel consumption, oh and when i change gears it takes a little longer for the revs to drop but other than that its smooth and a pleasure to drive.

could be the coolant temp sensor or the upper lambda dunno..

coolant sensor is brand new unless faulty.where can i find this lamda sensor? gunna be expensive isnt it!

As said next thing to change is upper 02 sensor, have a look on autovaux.

just checked autovaux £52.00 is that an average price? still no clue on location of the sensor mayb the exhaust???

just an update, not ordered part yet but EML has come on and staying on a bit worried :-(
thought it was the egr making the light come on but cant be now. or mayb the o2 sensor was making the light come on in the first place and nothing at all to do with egr ????
