new engine, slight air con issue.

just about run the new engine in on my 2.2 and all was going well, pulls much better even though i am only going to 4k with it at the moment.

Aircon works fine but on idle at stand still with the aircon on the car keeps nearly stalling, it has twice?

Should i leave it too see if the engine just needs to be completely broke in?

Any other ideas

i think that idle speed rises a bit when aircon is on.
it should then be about 900-950 rpm.

Idle will dip surely as engine is running under a slight load (compressor) thats why fuel economy is slightly worse with air con on.

Compressor. The compressor takes low-pressure, cool refrigerant and makes it hot by compressing it. Two to six pistons that resemble the ones in your engine do the actual compressing. A V-belt from the engine drives the unit, and a clutch on its front disconnects it when the air conditioner is switched off thats why the engine revs lift a bit while the air con is on 😃

Yeah. But the ECU should rise the idle when A/C is turned on. Could it be possible that it hasnÂ´t been activated.. Or there could be something wrong with the wiring? notsure.gif

Cheers for the comments guys, i am going to keep testing over the next week.

Do you think maybe the V-Belt is slightly too tight?

Only another 145miles to go and i have 1k in it so should be able to open it up a bit too see what it's really like.
