richard went to courtenay yesterday to have my astra remaped.after a few problems like my ecu dying  which they got working again thanks to some things stephan got them to try  my car ran 178.88hp and 155.63torque was really pleased with that.mark did say if they had had a bit more time could proberly have got a bit more.didnt sort out my problem i have with car being a pig to drive in traffic(due to the cams)as i found out while driving home through rush hour norwich traffic.all in all a good day and the guys at courtenay are a great bunch of guys cheers..
richard comp stage 1 cams. 2.4 inlet. piper exhaust manifold. magnaflow sport cat with jetex 2.5"cat back exhaust and the normal pre cat removed kn panal filter custom alloy intake to tb
JohnnyN Could be well worth getting a custom 2.5 inch downpipe too. Should help get the torque up a bit. Its that 2.4 inlet that's killing your torque figure.
rushy Vid had the same problem with his Comp Cams, he ended up taking them out, he also had the 2.4 manifold, Dblias zorst manifold, sports cat and custom cat back, he said it transformed the car on there removal, and he started to enjoy driving it again.
JohnnyN It would be an even better result if it wasn't for that inlet manifold. The mods listed above are almost identical to the mods that I had done to mine whilst Courtenay were doing the 2.4 inlet developement on my car. The only difference is that I had my head work done too. My dyno run before the 2.4 inlet was 182BHP and 172lbs Torque. After the inlet the dyno run was 182BHP (no change) and down to 156lbs Torque. Power is fine on the dyno but its the torque that counts on the road as its what you physically feel.
richard i am pleased with the results.i dont drive my car that much as only live 5 mins from work and have work van if i did drive it more then i think i would remove the cams because they are such a pain  the car does go well and i can notice a differece since the remap. pulls harder and smother through gear changes doesnt seem to bog down like it used to the remap was £250 for the software and £95 an hour on the dyno total £345 i think they spent a bit longer on my car as had problems with my ecu but still only charged me for 1 hour
JohnnyN Courtenay are spot on for service. If they have an issue with something they will work on it until its right and they will cover it. Matt had some issues when he had his Astra mapped and they worked on it all day basically at no extra charge. Brilliant!
Pisoiul_Cel_Rau you have a dealer in Europe (Romania)?? That i mean to say!! I can buy from here: www.courtenaysport.co.uk ??? Right?
