Cold Air Feeds

Hi all, i already have a pipercross induction kit fitted on my vec c 2.2 direct. I want to add a cold air feed to it but im unsure as to what diameter the pipe should be or what difference it makes? (ranging from 50-100mm). Also, would i require any other bits such as air feed pipes etc? Any response is greatly appreciated 🙂

Is it an open cone mate? If so its doing you no good, cold air feed or not. Best bet is K&N panel filter in derestricted air box. You may get the feeling its better but as soon as you go back to standard your soon realise the factory sealed system is better.

i believe its a closed cone sealed with foam. Is this still pointless even with a cold air feed? Also you mentioned the derestricted airbox... im assuming the standard factory one ive still got is a restricted one? notsure.gif

If its a sealed cone then its a viper and yes all you need is a cold air feed to seal up to it. To de restrict the stock box all you do is take out the plastic cover over the intake in the bottom of the box.

cheers for advice mate. I'll give the cold air feed a crack and if im not happy ill switch back to old stock box. Im assuming the best place to route the cold air feed would be next to the front radiator grill? Ive seen some route it in place of the front fog lights... but that looks way too low and id be afraid to drive in the rain incase my engine gets waterlogged lol :thumbdown:

i run a piper cross viper sealed unit, (when i have a working engine!)if its the same one, measure the end opening you'll just want to match that,
diblas do a good wide inlet to replace the stock one its a flowmaster, its so good ill probably slap it in every car i ever have!

yeah i saw the dblas flowmaster on regal autosport. Is it the case where you simply put the flowmaster in place of the old stock box and run a cold air feed into it? Bit fed up of the noise my induction kit makes... especially in multi storey car parks lol.

yep thats right,it'll probably make your induction roar a little louder tho....
