Well i'm a bit new on here and also to the 22se engine, i purchased a astra sri a couple of months ago and it started making a god awfull rattle the other morning, so out with the spanners to have a look, i found that the camshaft caps were loose and 2 of them were coming up and hitting the rocker box notsure.gif
Needles to say the head was scrap, so i finally found a second hand one and decided i'll have a go myself at reconing it up to original spec, i didn't realise how many hours were involved in lapping valves back into a head!!
Anyway i'm quite proud of myself as i did a complete head overhaul and stripped the old one down and popped my newer shiny one back one, i even did the cam chain spot on cheers..
But on the first test drive i switched it off at my mates house and the damn battery in the key went flat!! as luck would have it he had a spair 3v battery, i nearly lost the chip out of the key as it fell out on the floor lol.
So i managed to get on my way again, but now the damn battery on the car has decided either to go flat or not hold charge??
Also when i drive it under part throttle it feels like its hesitating, which i'm guessing its the egr valve that everyones on about? find out if its that today when it gets plugged into the computer, so i'll be donating a tener to this site very shortly :thumbup:
