Hi, ive been a member of the site for a little bit, but have really posted much, would just like to say, this site is great and very informative, ive learnt so much for reading these forums, so thanks to everyones wisdom and knowdge and posting it on here.
Anyway, was just wondering if anyone could help out, i own a 01' SRi 2.2l, and for some time now its ive heard some vibration/rattle when i cold start the engine, i now also notice the noise its around 2500 rpm when driving. Im getting pretty worried after reading that it could be the timing chain and how much damage it could possibly do. I notice the noise about a year ago, and its getting worse, if it is the chain, im surprised its lasted this long and im afraid its days are numbered..
The car is just about to click over 160,000kms, i thought i would do the smart thing and check for any receipts on the car as its 2nd hand and found this...
As you can see the car has already had chain problems, my question, is there a way to check if the oil nozzle is the newer bigger one, and should i consider replacing the chain again is this receipt states it was done at 87,000kms. (does it need replacing again once done the first time?)
Or, could the noise possibly be something else?
