Quick ECU question?

Hi guys!

Went to get my ECU remapped recently but it couldn't be done since the tool didn't read my ECU.

I have been asked by the tool maker to ask on this forum if;

My car might not have the delco gmpt ecu installed & might have a bosch variant fitted instead.

Is this true? Can anyone shed any light?

It's a VX220 if it makes a difference,

i am sure all z22se engine's were gmpt hence why they were so hard to crack

I know of at least on VX220 that needed Courtenay to fit a new ECU to it as they were unable to access/read it due to some coding problem in the ECU. Whenever they tried to read the contents it just showed up as empty and none of their attempts to reflash it with a standard or tweaked dump would work. Despite all of that, the car worked perfectly but Courtenay had to replace it in order for the owner to have his SC conversion mapped.
