Rear hatch window misting up

What is with the rear window( hatch )misting up, when we get this rain, thought I might have water in the boot or blocked vents, but all seems as it should, looking at all other cars on motorway journey home tonight and didn't see another with this problem, is it just that the venting system is just crap at the rear there on the Vectra?

That's what I first thought, but all but all dry in there mate, in fact, just gone out there and taken the spare wheel out etc to double check and it's all bone dry.

mine has never misted up so there does appear to be a leak somewhere, maybe the rear 1/4 side windows dunno..

I shall investigate further at the weekend and check all carpets in the rear etc , if the rear quarters are leaking then I suspect the carpets would also be wet, which I think I'll check out tomorrow at lunch time. thanks for your help mate

Here's a new one for you to look for. I have NEVER had a misty boot/hatch on my Vectra until the last few days since i've had it out the garage. I know exactly whats caused it too. I recently took off my chrome rear number plate surround and instead of using the sticky back foam to attach the surround, I decided to drill 4 holes to hold the surround to the rear of the car. Its since then that i've had a problem. I think that i'm going to pop some silicone around the screw heads.

Something to have a look at.

also water leak in heater matrix, also they use to be a drainage sock below the heater and if it gets bunged up then water has no where to go

could be a split weather seal, or sunroof

i just chuck the air con on and it gets rid of steameh windows, very good trick for cold starts

Also, check the ariel seal, that is known to perish on the Vectra C

Had a good look today and at all the points you guys mentioned and all is dry and no evidence/water marks to suggest there is a leak anywhere, tomorrow I shall be giving the rear window a thorough clean and see what happens there.
