Went to see my motor today and what a difference a few days make
has the new wing on and the old bumper taken off
you can't even see the damage any more
my new bumper is the dti style wide mouth with fogs and it needs prepping and spraying to put on
sourced a new leg for the car as vxhall wanted £170 for a new set of springs and another few hundred for the leg, i found a 2nd hand one in Newcastle for £55 quid that arrived yesterday and is in good nick, problem is i have the sri 150 with irmscher lowered suspension, every scrapper has vectra legs but if u check on the epc there is about 25 different shocks for the vectra and likewise for the springs and it was a nightmare to find the exact leg [shock & spring] for my car
i was thinking after market set of new legs and lowering springs but it is all money and I could of quite easily spent more than what i got in terms of the cheque i received from insurance
so so far the cost of parts has come to £130 quid and that's everything bar a new front grille but i am undecided as to whether to buy an opc opel one like i had before or an irmscher
another piece of good news is that the insurance do not require me to undertake a VIC check so that saves me £41
been quoted around £500 excluding the MOT to get her right so that is not bad considering the amount of labour to replace, prep and spray new panels
so with a bit of luck i should walk away with £500 in my pocket and the car back on the road, i am upset that she is a Cat C but then again what is the going rate for 2nd hand vectra's in today's market, who is going to buy a 2.2 vectra B with the cost of petrol atm,
i try get some photos up in the next week and I been told she be ready to pick up hopefully in the next 7 days
