I have just fitted my sc and the new injectors and map sensor and had CS map the ECU, but the thing will just not start. It turns over but its like its getting now spark. There is fuel going through as the plugs are damp (dried now). Any ideas before i pour a can of pertol over this thing??

Are you sure the fuel pump spins up? Might also be worth checking the connections on the multiplugs. On mine the actual terminals became loose due to the wiring moving around. Easy to sort just poke the terminal out with a pin and bend the barb in a bit. Do you have throttle? Does it do the throttle boot sequence? Webcam helpful here! I had hell with mine. Keep asking will try to help. I was ready with the matches too, its worth it in the end!

Nearly forgot.... plug in an op-com and see if theres any error codes.

defo sounds like wiring problem.. all grounding points reconnected etc? relay or fuses in the boot come loose? eml light at all?

The wire for the crank position sensor had snapped where my mate had removed the old inlet manifold lol. All sorted now and running.

Oh its had the base map put on it but is it supposed to bounce around at idle? it goes from 1-2k? is this normal or have i screwed the wiring to the TB?

WRT the idle, yeah it does that for the first few times you run it. It should settle down soon.

the idle should settle down after a few seconds, if not then you probably have an inlet air leak dunno..

Yeah that. Mind revved up and down a bit then settled after a few seconds. I tdid this the first few times I ran it and now its dead smooth. If its up and down all the time theres something amiss. I had this and it was tps errors due to the loose connections in the plug.

Done about 100 miles of only going to 4.5K and it seems to have settle down nicley

Have a few noises though and a petrol smell

have you connected the fuel tank vent valve dunno..

Yeah its all connected, i have an idea its not actually petrol and just the smell of the catch tank thats mounted in the side vent

Mine and NickB777's vent to atmosphere at the rear of the car. Courtenays rigged up a little filter thingy in the void at the rear of the nearside rear wheelarch and Nick's is somewhere similar. So, I don't get any of those nasty oily fumes coming back into the cabin. My car does occasionally reek of petrol sometimes. So bad at a Bedford trackday a couple of months back I had to stop the car and get out to check that petrol wasn't pouring out somewhere. No idea what causes it but it's always done it from time to time pre- and post-supercharger.

Hi techieboy, thats good to know then. I though it was petrol but agree it is an oily smell.

Does anyone get a ticking noise at about 3k rpm? Also i am getting major water ingress problems. So much so that the car doesnt like driving in the rain 🙁

Get a turbo water shield and squash the non-fixed end flat and fit as normal. Stops water getting in the coil pack. I had the same and its fine now. I occasionally get a ticking but put it down to followers.

is there a quick fix i can do when i get home, ie tape the coilpack?

is the ingress causing problems?
The spark plugs themselves have the rubber tube on them that should stop any harmful ingress into the spark plugs

see it only has a problem after its been washed or when its been raining. Is there anywhere else the water can get in and cause havoc?
