I was reading somewhere that if the cranks goes on a z22se then the conrods are no good to use again. Basically my z22se was using oil and then started to knock so i decided to rebuild it.
Anyway once stripped down i discovered that the piston on number 1 had started to spin a shell and had just left a few marks on the conrod.
So i decided to get hold of a replacement piston and use this instead of my orginal 1.
So now they all have been fitted with new rings and big ends ready for fitting.
I also had to buy a new crank as it was worn on journal 1. But my qs is because all the main journals had marks on will all the other conrods be o.k to use again.
The local machinist said that the mains werent too badly worn on the cranks and could have been reground but it was journal 1 which made the crank scrap.
