Timing chain fixed!!!

Hi,
Did my timing chain today, took 5 hours to do with some help from a mate (foot hard on the brakes with the car in gear) to allow me to do the crank bolt up to it's crazy torque.
The tensioner fell to bits when I took it out :wtf: and thanks to the tip from vocky to release the tensioner before install. No nasty suprises, and a big thankyou for all on here to gave help and encouragment cheers..

Damn right mate. There was a fair bit of thrash on start up, and the tick-over was well lumpy :thumbdown:
That's now gone :thumbup: plus the car seems to pull a lot better 😃

Would be good for someone to do a how to guide with pics?????? if Benny could do one might give people a kick up the arse to have a go them selves, and would help people save dosh like me i paid nearly 500 and they buggered my car up its never been the same since.

Thats a good idea on the how 2..... and glad also that you got it done..and just in time by the sound of things. My plastic runners/guides had metled themselves in to the bottom of the engine and my chain jumped only a couple of teeth causing ££££££s worth of damage.

I could have a stab at a how to, but my phone camera is pants so I didn't take any photos.
The car is a totally different animal now the chain's been done! It pulls really smoothly, seems to come on cam where it never did before the chain swap, and the idle is sweet, so my cam timing must have been off a fair few degrees.. :wtf:
I have access to TIS through a friend, and I can get pages printed off for those who need them.
