sdbutler10 I have been looking at upgrading my internals. so which ones do i go for. Wiseco Forged Pistons 10:1CR Stock Bore Wiseco Forged Pistons 10:1CR .020 Overbore Wiseco Forged Pistons 8.9:1CR Stock Bore Wiseco Forged Pistons 8.9:1CR .020 Overbore will also be getting the eagle rods as well.
sdbutler10 im not sure tbh its either forced induction or i am liking the look of the throrttle bodies atm
JohnnyN Unless you're looking for over 250bhp you'll be wasting your money. The standard rods are good to 250bhp. Pistons upto 280bhp.
JohnnyN Entirely upto you. At least if you do go onto further heavy tuning the engine will be prepared. I'm still running on stock rods and pistons. IF..... I did decide to take the car on a stage further then I wouldn't have much choice but to upgrade the rods and pistons. Certainly something for you to think about Scott. ;-)
MikeS if u get the engine out m8 then i would do the oil pump, rings, bearings, and fit ARB studs to the rods ARB bolts are a must buddy
sdbutler10 would u just change the oil pump or upgrade it mike? if i got new pistons then it comes with new rings. yup ARP would be on the list. my list so far is ike this pistons rods balancer shaft remove new chains new bolts oil pump
vocky I would certainly fit eagle rods and if you want to raise the compression then use standard z22yh pistons as they are 11:1 cr rather than 10:1 cr 8.9:1 pistons are low compression for stage 2 + sc builds

sdbutler10 well just found out z22yh pistons are 138+vat each so £634.8 in all double the price of wisco ones
vocky my 11:1 cr wiseco's were $650 as they are made to order buy a z22yh bottom end and rob the pistons  they are almost identical to the wiseco's, if I had known I would have bought the z22yh pistons

vocky fuel consumption depends on how I drive, it will do 30+ on a run or low 20's having fun it uses less than when it had the 2.4 inlet etc

vocky there is a secondhand set for sale on the vx site - £1200, pm me for details you will need an astra cable throttle pedal, but otherwise it's quite an easy conversion
