car has been written off [cat c] - bodyshop wanted £2200 to repair
insurance has offered £1900 including exhaust system, so u can imagine what I said as they book for around £2k without the exhaust system
anyway i have agreed to buy the car back as a write off and they have paid out £1250
it is going down to a m8 who resprayed my calibra and he will use some 2nd hand parts to repair, hopefully get a gsi bumper and an irmscher grille
i am thinking bodywork damage and suspension arm,front hub, strut damage
gearbox and engine were fine when it left a few days back and no EML pmsl
btw not happy with insurance company offering me £1k for it considering they sell for double that on pistonheads & auto trader even with the faulty chain gear, i am sorry but the whole point of using car insurance companies that promote themselves on these sort of forums is they look after the community, not try and f**k em over when it hits the fan, i am happy with efficiency and rental cars but when my car is written off i dont expect to lose £1500 on the car within 12 months after buying it, parkers show top book is £2.9k, highways insurance offered me bottom book even though it had no rust, new chain, new clutch, new tyres, new brakes, 80k service history & no bodywork damage pre accident, i am not pleased !
