well what a t"@t of a job, first jacked up the car to have a look under to see if i could see the black box! NO, the rads and fan was in the way, so smashed the grill out, and set about trying to get in!
with the grill out you still carn't see nothing, tried looking at the vectra one and they not have the same set-ups so that was no help.
proceeded to ram a screw driver in were i could to see if i could feel anything that would help and then found the bottom of the clip that goes through the slam panel but it wouldn't move nowhere near as easy as the vectra was did, so wasn't sure what was going on. carried on with it and finally it poped! showo..
got the bonnet up and the little black box under the clip must be different to 'butlers' it is held by 3 bolts screwed from top of slam and it has a peice of plastic that sits next to the clip that i was trying to push, thats there to stop peolpe doing what i was trying to do, so it wasn't helping me much!
found the problem, didn't know but see tonight that the car has had new shocks, etc. and someone had trapped the cable in the strut top! 🙁 changed the cable anyway while i was there as i'd already got one to do the job.
fitted the new grill and the new rims that came today!
