electric window motor removal.

im trying to replace my front passenger door on my vectra but i have to take out the electric window motor out and remove the glass to put in the new door. the motor is pop rivited in so im gonna drill them out, but i dont own a rivet gun to re attach the motor, was wondering if i could bolt it on the new door instead? dunno..

I went down to Halfords and bought a pop rivet gun kit for about £10. The rivets in the kit are only aluminium so I went to the Vx Dealer for some OE steel rivets and used them as the rivets do undertake a lot of stress from the motor.

cheers for the advice, i ended up using 10mm bolts (like the one that hold the fron wing on) seems to have worked really well! but then i tried fitting the new door and it just wont line up with the hinges i dont know whats wrong dunno whether to get the grinder out and shave some off the hinge off?

It involves drilling some small holes in the inner door panel to access and remove the window motor rivets.

on my old mk2 astra i drilled the rivets and just used nuts n bolts instead
