vectra 2.2 Using Alot Of Water - Advice Please

Hey guys I've noticed over the last couple of months that the cars using alot of water, filled it up last week as I was getting the coolant warning got in it tonight and it's thrown it up again.
I've checked the header tank and oil filler cap for mayo and found non, had the car upto temp and held it at 2k revs and got no bubbling in the header tank either.

Could anyone shed any light on it for me, please.....

Have you checked the bottom hose? Its not visible from the top of the car, you'll have to get underneath and its a right bastard to remove due to the spring clip that holds it on.

also check your spark plugs and the water pump

most likely a small hole in the rad 🙁

I've done 250,000 miles in various vectra B's and it's usually the rad !

Spoke to Daz about this earlier this morning. He reckons to have a look at the water pump.

Indeed you did john....My old 2.2 had a slight weep on the pump for 3 years,just put up with it,however a m8 of mines 2.2 had a bad leak at the pump the other week,so changed that for him whilst i done his chains,what a shit of a job to change it was....

some bloke i know got quoted 180 by a stealership for a water pump replacement

where abouts is the water pump situated?
Cant seen any visible signs of water anywhere in the engine bay or any signs of leakage on the drive....

look for the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine, the water pump is located to the lower left hand side of that

your best off getting underneath but as vocky said check your rad, jack the car up and give it a good mooch around
