I’ve had my Vectra Hatch 2.2 Sri almost a year now and I’m puzzled about the amount of noise the rear suspension makes. It seems normal until I go over deepish potholes at average speed. I get this banging noise which I can feel through the seats as well. It’s on both sides and when it happens I sometimes get the feeling that the wheel is skewing inwards.
I had a look underneath and can’t see anything obvious and I’ve had my local garage look at it and all they could find was some slight wear in two of the bushes. I got them to change them but it didn’t seem to cure it. What makes me notice it more is that my old Vectra 2.0 ltr Sri 1998 didn’t make any noise at all from the rear suspension. Have Vauxhall done something to the suspension on these later models?
The only other thing I can think of is the shock absorbers need changing. Any ideas lads?
