Nearly there. Engine goes back in this week. Just in time for the lousy weather.
New cylinder block, rods and pistons (looking a bit healthier than the earlier shots) and Saab head gasket

Balancer shafts deleted (again) and 3rd new set of balancer and timing chains in 2 years, timed up and ready to go

Original ported head but with Saab sodium filled exhaust valves and Saab Aero cams (fingers crossed they'll be suitable)

and with the exhaust ports opened up to match the TMS 4-1 manifold

New sump oil temp sensor boss

All ready to go back in

So hopefully a little power boost as well as a more reliable rebuild this time around. :crazy:
