Stink of petro in cabin - Z22SE Zafira

Hi again folks. Anyone had a problem of a constant petrol pong in the passenger cabin ? I thought it might be down to my poor running problems, but the car is running sweet now but stinks of fuel vapour ( although not all the time ). I'm thinking it must be to do with the evaporation control system - anyone know much about this ? If the car has been stood quite a while ( it was before I bought it ), I wonder if the evap canister can get knackered by having too much vapour going through it for too long ? Or maybe there's a problem in the vent pipework somewhere. Any ideas ? Cheers.

you checked your fuel lines , fuel rail , injectors, fuel pressure regulator

u can turn off the evap pump by unplugging the unit on the side of the air box

get a torch and look under the injectors whilst the car is running but i know from reading the forum another member had a slight leak on his fuel pressure regulator so lift up the air intake hose and see if u can smell petrol around that area

could be a simple thing such as you have a slight leak on your fuel filter connectors or in my case the fuel filler cap was broken
