Don't know where to start so ill just say it here - I have an astra coupe SE2 which has delveloped a ratlling sound at higher revs.. A few mechanics have listened to it and all have said it sounds like a damaged crankshaft possibly from oil starvation......cut a long story short i have been told a new engine maybe cheaper than the labour required to investigate & fix the current one.
That said...does anyone know where i could get a decent engine....ie a reputable company..?
I have been sent a quote from...www.reconditioned-engines.co.uk....does anyone know if they are any good.....anyone had any experiences....??
Thay hva e quoted £995+VAT for a complete strip, clean, rebuild, replacement of bad parts....then £200 for collection & delivery.
Just looking to know what you think.
