BURT150 Heres some pictures of my inlet pipe and catch tank: OIl catch tank made and fitted. pics of inlet pipe and other breather pipes and catch tank. pic with 2.4 manifold fitted.
pottsey looks good mate ,what other mods have you done to the engine apart from the 2.4 manifold and air intake
MikeS i like that brilliant place to put the catch tank, mine was located in the right hand side wing by the battery but i took it off due to length of hose 🙂 you will find the car runs quieter and idles better if you re route the hose back into the intake hose, might be worth it before the air intake sensor ?
JohnnyN Why before the air intake sensor? You'd be getting hot gas temps instead feeding the temp sensor caausing false readings Mike.
MikeS but surely the reading will be incorrect after the sensor due to gases coming from the breather ? i maybe completely wrong though
BURT150 Yea the catch tank was made by me im quite handy with a tig 😃 I havent realy done much else to the engine other than a k&n filter and a cool stat. i wouldnt ever put the breather back into the intake pipe. my inlet manifold is as clean as a whistle on the inside now unlike the old 2.2 one i took off.
JohnnyN You could have a customer base for catch tanks me thinks?? Do you have a drain plug in the bottom too? Very good work! thumbup
BURT150 I wouldnt mind making a couple more up if the price is rite 😃 . I didnt fit a drain plug to that one i just take it out every now and again and tip it upside down to drain it out.

BURT150 It runs fine with the 2.4 manifold i wouldnt say it made much difference but eventualy when i add a bit more to it like cams and a better exhaust manifol/system it might pay off. Ive noticed there has been mixed opinions about the 2.4 manifold so im still in 2 minds about it realy. dunno..

JohnnyN It did nothing for my engine power. I had the exhaust system, Schrick cams, modified head etc. and it produced no more nor no less power. There was a noticable drop in torque which was a bit of a disappointment.

BURT150 It is a difficult one! truth be told i only bought it because it was going cheep on ebay i think i payed 60 squid for it so i thought why not try it. I Think the runners on it are too long on it cus you sort of run out of revs before you get the benefit of it if that makes sense :wtf:. Im still considering making my own with short runners like the dbilas one. has anyone fitted one?
JohnnyN It was the last mod before going SC. Courtenay used my car as the development for the 2.4 inlet and 2.4 throttle body. The developement work was carried out over 3 months. There were all sorts of issues with the TB and that was given up. My torque dropped from 172lbs down to around 150lbs after the 2.4 inlet. I have been meaning to contact gsi-al to see who mapped his car as he's got a good power result that I read recently.
