ported throttle body?

hi, i'm looking at porting my throttle body, is this possible myself? what does it change? anyone got before & after pics?

let me know how you get on nick ,may even do mine ,ive got a blanking plate for the egr mod just need to get a cheater

not blanking it mate, just going to cut out the excess!
