2.2 recalls

Can somebody tell me when Vauxhall started the recalls on the 2.2 engines, and did it effect the astra's..

If my motor falls into the recall, even tho i had my timing chain done by an independant garage, and made no differnce what so ever, would i still be cover.

It was never a recall. This would have cost GM millions of pounds. There have only been a few people lucky enough to have had this repair done at Vx cost. Some have been able to claim part payment but other than that its cost to the owner.

oh well looks like im going to have to foot the bill and do the work myself, at least im savings pounds that way, or could end up putting new lump in or just sell the car as it is, damm motor.

they wont touch a z22se registered over 5 years ago thus meaning no more warranty work, the later 2.2's had the modified chain kits

this came from my m8 who works in warranty analysis luton, he had a list of of everything that goes wrong with the 2.2 vectra b's, ranigng from the irmscher letterbox that leaks from the welds and has baffle problems and EGR problems that are not rectified even though the sensor is changed
