I jacked up the car and applied some WD40 to the nuts. For future reference, there are spanner flats (19mm) on the ball joint to hold it still whilst undoing the nut so that made this job an absolute piece of piss!!
Undo both nuts, pop the links off. At this point I noticed that the anti-roll bar dropped down so a carefully positioned jack to raise it back up and I could locate the new drop link. Refitting is the reversal of removal. Nice and easy lemon squeezy!
Only 1 joint was slack and had movement in it but it was enough to make a clunking from the front. So both replaced and some more miles happy motoring!!
