what else can be done to improve power?

hi, ive been using this site for a while now, and you guys have some great advice.
ive started to improve my astra as i was getting a bit bored but still love me little car,
the things i have already done are:-
power flow exhaust,
removed pre cat,
piper cross viper air filter,
blanked off egr valve,
ported and polished throttle body,
diblas extra wide inlet(on its way)

so can you guys out there recomend where to take it next, i think manifolds (port n polish or new?) and cams are next on my list but im not sure which to go for,
I did see a 2.2 turbo manifold on the internet tother day how much work/cost is involved? (im leaving a re-map untill ive done everything else)

Exhaust 4-1 Stainless Steel manifold from Piper and a Piper custom 2.5 inch downpipe inc. 200cpi sport car. Available from Piper directly or through Courtenay. I think I sent you the link to Courtenay before. There is also a 2.5 inch catback system available too from Piper. After these mods it starts getting very expensive. Head work and cams would be the next move after the exhaust system has been carried out. You are into around 2k for headwork and cams fitted inc. remap.

hmm what if i was willing to undertake the work myself? i know several good mechanics (father in laws pretty good) and im a engineer, pretty handy with the die grinder if the head works only porting and polishing?

Then that would cut the cost considerably. You'd just be looking at the price of cams. Again, Piper can supply on an exchange basis or there are now Newman Cams or the more expensive Schrick Cams at around £750 inc. double valve springs.

johnny has some vewry good advice there or you got go down the supercharger route or turbo charger route

sweet!! thats good news! i did see a z22se turbo manifold on t' intershed the other day, so i could be tempted! cams first tho! presumably turboing is a massive work load, ill have a look for some how to guides.... do you know of any good guides?

tbh there are no guides on how to turbo the z22se.
you can be the first if you want

Yep, I've never seen a Z22SE with a turbo fitted yet. A couple of people have made a start, by getting the parts required, but never saw anything else of the projects.

Regal sell the Dbilas kit to do it.

Are you sure it was a turbo manifold for a z22se and not a z20NET??? There is a garage that advertises on ebay called Redmans that claim to sell a turbo manifold for the z22se but it is in fact from the other engine.

hmmm i dont know it did say it was a very rare manifold ill look into it further.....
