vectra c 2.2 sri(z22se) problems

hi all i have a few problems i hope someone can help me with the first one is when i start the car first thing in the morning sometimes it cranks over starts then stalls,give the gas a coulpe of pumps try again and it will start,secondly sometimes from cold start aswell it will start and idle very poor and judder give it a bit of gas and it clears,also when you put your foot down there seems to be hardly any power but if you are light footed and feather the accelerator there seems to be power.are all these problems related,also i have had the tb and egr off to clean could it be coil or plugs giving this problem,hope someone can help me out cheers

hi there mate thanks for reply,is the air flow meter a straight swap or would i have to do anything to get it to work with my car

Air flow meter? there isn't one on the z22se engine.

It does sound like a plug is breaking down or the coil pack remove the plugs and check the condition.

hi blue se2 will get some tomorrow and have a check can you advise me on which plugs to get also ive read a thread about the springs inside the coil pack they get corroded does anyone know the process for checking and cleaning them

There is on the Vectra C Z22SE.

Forget the arrow, I was showing the position of the ABS plug in another thread. Notice the rail is different as well.

Sorry rushy i was sure densil had a vectra b and the engine code for the veccy C are diffenernt arn't they (y22TH or something??)

cat is located further up downpipe

if it has got an air flow meter then i would say it is that

usually u can slowly depress the accelerator and it will go but if u floor the pedal then nothing happens and usually stalls

02 plate vectra C with the 2.2 engine even has air flow meters

Up to 04 plate they were the SE in the Vectra C, all Signums, estates and all Vecs 04 onwards were fitted with the YH the only real difference being the fueling and variable intake manifold.

the question is did every vectra c with the 2.2 engine come with an air flow meter as standard

i am feeling confident that is the case

Yup. Vid had a an early 2.2 C and it came with one and mine is the last of the bunch and I have one also. 🙂
