?air flow regulator swap z22se to z20let sensor?

hi , im new to this so any help will be greatly accepted,
i have recently been told that a simple swap from my air flow regulator sensor(z22se) to the sensor from the z20let can give me 20 bhp.
How true is this will i need to swap my lambda sensor too (i also have 1 of these from a z22se) or if i will also benefit from doing it.
im very curious as wether this will work any help gratefully recieved (as far as im aware it'll fool the ecu into drinking like an alchoholic)

I can't see it working the sensor off the z22se is expecting to see a vacuum and the let sensor measures boost?

yeah i had kind of thought this although most of the air regulators (units) appear to be the similar across the board, (the lambda sensor is just a spare we have so we'll abandon that idea) its the air flow reg sensor in the air flow regulator on the air inlet which he is referring to, will that work?

There is a sensor in the inlet pipe called an Inlet Air Temperature sensor (IAT), or there is a MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) in the inlet manifold that measures manifold pressure. There is a Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR). I am not aware of an Air Flow Regulator on the z22se engine?

The Vec C SE runs a MAF as well, dont think any other SE does?

Welcome to the forum by the way
your best bet is to search the forum people have asked the question many times on what to do to improve performance. Doesn't seem like your mate has had much to do with the Z22se IMO?

no he hasn't i did think it was a bit of a wild claim when i saw the air flow regulators on e bay look nothing like the inlet on me engine so what is the best way to get an extra bit of poke? currently i have a piper cross viper and a powerflow exhaust unfortunately still got me origional cat.

Remove the pre cat is a good place to start but as i said take a look around the forum there are plenty of posts to look at but don't expect huge gains there are a few people who have some good power outputs but have spent a LOT of money!

ive had a word with him and he still swears blind it'll do the trick but it does appear that he is referring to the maf sensor, hmmm more research methinks!
