Cams Question :)

ive now got some Comp Cams Stage 1.

but after lightly reading the instruction manual that comes with it i have a couple questions.

do i have to use their lifters etc or will mine do? warrenty voided if theirs are not used.
should i change my timing chain? (40k but always fresh oil every 6months)
is there anything else that i should be getting/doing for getting these fitted?

here i beleive is the sheet from compcams explaining what i will need etc, it has the lube, lol but nothing else is mentioned.

I would use what they have supplied. You can't go wrong then when it comes to a warranty issue IF you had a claim. I would also change the chain at the same time for what it costs. I know it'll take a little more time but you're safe in the knowledge that its all fresh.

well the only think i have is 2 cams and the lube.

I see. Now that's clear I would assume that you are okay to use the OE lifters. Possibly new OE lifters would be recommended? TBH, being an engineer, I would say that anything mechanical would better be replaced within reason. If it were me then I would.

update, my mate came round and we changed the timing chain and i fitted the new cams aswell, they are comp cams stage1.

so all thats left is piper to get the backbox to me and a remap and i hope for about 180bhp 🙂
