Poor radio reception

Hi All,
Is the Astra Coupe more prone to poor radio reception than other Vauxhalls? I have checked that the fuse that feeds the RF amplifier is intact, and I really REALLY don't want to have to remove the head-lining to look at the amp to find that it is fine.
Is this just the head unit being a bit old and pants?
Any suggestions would be great, and thank god for the CD changer!

Mines w**k too, so has most of other Vauxhalls i have been in using the oem setup. Unless you are on a open Mway i just CD.

My MK4 Astra had shit radio reception as well.

I think I will upgrade the head-unit as it is getting on my moobs big time.

I actually found the radio reception worse on the after market HU in the MK4.

I had the same problem in my radio installation kits and ended up phoning them, the guy at CAD knew which one to order when I gave him the VX colour. HTH
