starting car after 6mths

Hi all fellow members,
Almost back from a 5 1/2 month deployment and looking for any advice/special precautions to take as the car will have been laid up in the garage for 6 months by the time i get back. The wife has not started it as far as i know and possibly neighbour did'nt either. Is there any thing that i defo need to do to ensure there is no damage on start. dunno..
Engine oil was changed for fully syn £40 a tub about 2 days before i put it away after sorning it. All the filters and plugs were done about the same time as well and the garage will of been dry. Obviously i will be putting battery on charge unless neighbour actually remembered to do it for me.
Also as i will be going away regularly over the next year, possibly 2 with work for 2-3 months at a time and with the chance of maybe another 6 monther as well i am just trying to decide what is best in the long term. Car has done 130k, had the head and chains done less than 12k ago @ £1400 and is also dual fuel, so cheap to run.
Do i keep and just put it away each time or do i sell it. Model is a 'Y' plate black met vectra 2.2cdx h/back model with all the goodies, all working as well. What do you guys think?.
Any help/info is greatly appreciated,

I leave my for 2 month'ers, biggest worry are the brakes corroding and binding!
As for starting, can't imagine there's much you can do except turn it over and leave it running for a (lubricating) while before giving it a slow run, checking other things such as brakes.

I was thinking of disconnecting the plug that goes onto the black coil pack thing on the cam cover and then turning over the engine for a while prior to starting it. can't think of anything else i can do but am sure there is something i am missing out. Brakes should be fine as she is in the gagage and it is dry unless the wife has boo booed. Not to sure what to do with car also as i will be away a lot over the next couple of years as well. decisions, decisions.................
Anyway, anyone else got any brainstorming idea's for pre start things to do?

it might be an idea to whip that plug off the coil pack, let the oil light go out on the dash and then refit the plug

Agree with vocky when turning over new engine build same applys so disconnect coil pack and crank for about 20 seconds

Is it worth pouring some oil into the plug holes before cranking too?
