Cam fitting guide in TV this month

Hi all,

Saw the cam fitting guide in this month's Total Vauxhall and couldn't help noticing they specced some "Cat cams" from Courtenay sport, for the price of £767.05, which seems expensive for a set of cams. Any great benefit to using these?

Just wanted to check as well, the piper cam regrinds that are recommended on here, do they need anything else (new followers, uprated springs etc.) or are they a straight swap?

Also are they the "VX22BP270" "Repro" cams in their catalogue for £292? Do they affect drivability?

compcams from www.allecotec.com are made from blanks, with import duty etc they work out at about £475 ish

the pipers are good, they are the vx22bp270 and are reprofiled, you need to send them your cams, they are a straight swap.

Thanks vocky, I take it that the changing cam feature in TV was probably "sponsored" hence the recommendation of those pricey cams?

quite possibly as courtenay are a major sponsor of many vauxhall things, great company to deal with 🙂

personally I would advise compcams or piper 🙂
