What are these like? I am thinking about buying a Signum 2.2 direct in black notsure.gif . Do they go wrong often, are they just as good as the Z22SE? Cheers

basically an updated version of the z22se

it is a lot smoother than the z22se in accelerating but personally think they are noisier than the z22se at idle, they also heat up very very quickly

Are they worth having one. The one I have my eye on has under 50k on the clock, it's just had a new fuel pump, the chain was done not long ago. It's a 2003 car. Cheers

If it's had the chain and fuel pump done, then it should be sorted Mark. I'd definately take a stab at it.

aye the fuel pump is really off putting

not a matter of going wrong, if it is when they go wrong it is £300-400 + labour = vxhall about 700 quid

Well if the chain and fuel pump is all sorted your on to a winner. The only other thing that goes wrong with them is the inlet manifold but that's not as common.

I have a `55' reg 2.2 Signum. Engine sounds a bit like a washing machine at high revs, but hey its a long stroke. Very smooth with the Auto box, quite good mid range. 29-38 mpg. Mixed touring in Frog circa 34 mpg inc Peage motorway. Watch out for the high pressure DI fuel pump - £400-500 for a new one, and there were I think a duff batch - guess how I know ! Drop links go every 20k miles ...

The drop links are a common problem on all the Vectra C's/Signums (and most other Vauxhall's for that matter!)
