Z22YH ECU Remap

Hey all, I'm brand new here so forgive me if this question has been answered somewhere else! I recently contacted MIJ Performance as recommended to me on the Vectra C Owner's forum regarding an ECU remap for my 2006 Vectra 2.2 Direct SRi. They told me it could be done but that in 6 months or so, it would permanently damage the immobiliser. Apparently (accoring to MIJ), these facelift or post late 2005 Vectras dont like the ecu remaps. My question is, has anyone else heard of such an issue or have some of you guys actually remapped the Z22YH engine successfully without problems? Any feedback would be great thanks! 😃

That's news to me mate. I wouldn't go to them in the first place for a map TBH The only Yh I can remember off hand that's had a Map was an EDS map. On a stock lump it only increased about 8bhp. What it did give was a better and smoother curve.

yeah i thought it was a bit odd too, but ive also heard of only minimal power gains anyway so probably not much point. Still drove all the way up from London to have a full cat back system and induction fit fitted by them anyway, and they did a good job!

all the tuning specialists around here have fogged me off saying it is not worth it on a NA 2.2

Have they been able to read the ECU file correctly on the Z22YH then, as I didn't think they could even do the Z22SE correclty yet?

That black YH i500 replica had an EDS map on. Although I believe the guys wife does work at the Vx performance centre.

I saw that in Total Vauxhall regarding the Remap. I'm surprised EDS haven't done anything on the Z22SE

If it's still of any interest, I contacted the guys over at Angel Tuning and one of the blokes told me that it was the early 2.2s with the Delco ECU which had this problem. So looks like MIJ were misinformed!!!
