chain tensioner- help needed lads :) pics included

Hi guys, just quick question- I bought from Redmans chain kit but tensioner iz different than oryginal from my engine, actually its shorter- please take a look on pictures below 🙂 the guy from shop told me its correct one but mine mechanic says different story,

The longer one its mine ( pic 2,3 - second from left 😃 ) What do U think lads? iz it gona work? coz car its open now,head its off as im doing piston rings,chain, etc. Cheers

I've not seen one of those tensioners before.

but they do come 'untensioned' and once fitted you release the tension by pressing the chain guide with a blunt screwdriver / bar, that will extend the tensioner to the same size as the original

I know what U mean vocky, but as U can see mate, there's no sealer on newone ;/ eh I think im gona get new from local dealer but its almost 90euro 🙁 Is it gona be cheaper from UK Vauxhall dealer mate?

in the left hand pic ..pic number 1 .....the left hand tenstioner is a normal z22se ..and the one on the right is a z2.0net hope this helps ....benny

I have just had a look at a stripped engine, it is the z20net/saab tensioner, it's much better than the z22se item, so don't worry 🙂

thanks vocky 🙂 I owe U 10pack whatever Ure drinking bud 🙂 that news makes me feel better now as I hope I wont have prblems with pistonheads,hopefully they arent wear to much 🙂

you can use the 2.0 tenstioner in the 2.2 but not vise versa .....the 2.0 tenstioner is a better fitting part .....
