Just joined on here. I have an issue with my VX220 2.2NA. It makes a real Diesel-type noise on start up (from cold) which disappears once warm (operating temp). It sounds very tappety / metallic, so this leads me to thinking it could be timing chain related - certainly oil starvation to some degree.
I have read through various postings on here and assume that the uprated newer oil nozzle would help matters along with brand new timing chain.
The problem I have is where to go in Scotland to have this done - I really dont want to use a VX dealership and my choices in the central belt seem rather few and far between.
A local specialist in most performance cars is happy to undertake the work but has asked me to put a posting on here to see if there are any tips or special tools required for the job (being a VX220 space is limited) and really don't want to take engine out!
Your advice will be most welcome.
