Astra Coupe Old Woman Crash!! URGH!!!

Basically my astra coupe has been involved in an accident, old women pulling out on me at a junction.. So not my fault (Thank GOD) just wanted to see what you guys think of the damage and what you recon... Right off / Repaired

Also since the crash as she pushed me in to a hedge car has been making a funny noise from the left hand side of the car, sounds like almost a wheel bearing/cv joint gone, plus car would need a respray on the passenger side. I personally think right off as car is worth 2k and when my mondeo went in for similar damage thru insurance it was 1.8k just for new doors and respray....

Learnt my lesson also volvo's aren't cars there vehicles of wars, bit rock solid not even a scratch on the thing!! Was annoyed!!

Looks like new front wing, door skin, rear panel, so possibly a write off.

Yea that's what I was thinking. It will be a close call either way I feel.

Easy Repair.. But no dout the insurance company will write that off 🙁

u go through insurance and it will be around 1000 to fix

u go the cheap option then it is knocking out and filler and respray the whole side

looks like it needs a new front wing

the rear panels are usually knocked out as they are welded on

u can look for a 2nd hand door ?

After speaking with the repairers today, I have been told that to fix it will be around 1.5k+.
Parts required are as follow:
Front Drivers Side Wing
Rear Drivers Side Quarter
Poss New Door/Skin ( Still unsure )
Two New Tyres on the Front ( Due to where she has hit me has caused the tyre to be mishaped)
Possibly a New Alloys for the Drivers Side
Wheel Bearing on the Passenger side

Labour
Estimated repair time 14-21 days

Hire car for 25days = 1650 (YES 66 pound a day)
Cost of repair 1500
Total Cost 3150
Book Price of Car:2150 ( according to glasses guide )

Pretty sure at this point the third party insurer are going to write the vehicle off... OLD WOMAN!!

Yes you are right, It would cancel the MOT so will buy it back and sell as spares or repairs..

No wonder car insurance goes up every year with companies demanding £66 a day for car hire etc the car hire is more expensive than the repair!!!

That is a joke you could buy and insure a car for a month for less than that and sell it on after and make money where do they get there figures from???

depending on what catergory th insurance write it off

if its written of by third party's insurance your car will be yours still
when it happened to my mk3 escort my mot was still valid as it wasnt my insurance writing the car off
and it wasnt catorgarised as it was a third party claim so didnt need VIC test either
found this out from dvla when i contacted them to ask if it was written off before i sold it on
as i had repaired it myself

the new owner had to get it mot'd only because the old one ran out

Got the figures from Fleet Hire Services the company giving me the vehicle, its actually going to be more than that basically its 81 pound a day for 1-7 days, 8-14 days is 74 pound and 15+ is 66 pound exclusive of VAT. Car I got is 2.0 Golf GT TDI.... Think its a joke as well considering I would rather live without a car an take the cash as I cycle to work and only use the car for social use so really could live without it but aint complaining...

Car is CAT C.. Written off this morning offered me 2.7k what im impressed about is the car still being mine. So spares and repairs it is...

That's a good payout value, especially considering the car is still yours also, so should get quite a bit from the spares off the Coupe.

Yea very good payout, was impressed usually have to go through the hassle of refusing claims etc but straight in at book price for private dealer and they let me keep the car whats a bit of a bargain. Looking for around 800 for it if anyone's interested cant be bothered to get it sorted myself but the parts are on ebay at the min.
