New errors!

OK, I had my car running fine on 68mm tb (new). I ended up with a P1515 which turned out to be a broken wire in the throttle plug. I've been through it and soldered all the wires to the terminals just to be sure. Thing is I'm now getting persistent P1512 and P1516. I really need some help on this one please. I had it running and now naught 🙁

Right then heres some flesh for this one:

Batt voltage 11.7v
acc pedal pos 1 = 0.96-4.53v
acc pedal pos 2 = 4.53-0.96v
TP sensor 1 3.25v
TP sensor 2 1.76v
calc throttle posn (unactivated) = 1
calc throttle posn (activated) = 44

Now also seeing P0606 which could be derived from a P1512 (min throttle posn not learned)

The GM parameters (cheers techie) say TPS should be <0.92v (am I reding this right?) so I guess its a TPS issue but how on earth do I deal with that?

I would have a guess and say it's not wired correct, certainly worth double checking

Yup, thats where I'm heading. Got the tech 2 on it some more suspecting a broken TPS but when I operate the throttle by hand the values are spot on 4.57v and 0.41v...and vice versa. The throttle seems to be sprung to open a crack (technical phrase) and doesnt move. I'm guessing a wiring issue to the drive motor? Dont suppose you know which colours or pins they are do you?

A wee update (also on VX220.org)
Just stripped the loom out of the car to make life easier and checked the connections are correct. I've also stripped all the tape off, traced the wires and tested the continuity. All OK so far. This leaves me two possibilities....
1) although new the TB is shot.
2) ecu is shot.

The error codes I get are
P0606 ECU fails to load software which can be caused by throttle fails to detect min setting
P1516 TPS error or TB draws too much current
P1512 throttle min position not learned.

The TPS works fine according to the tech 2 so could be the motor, or could be ECU not activating throttle cos its shot.

Does this sound sensible?

with the ignition on the tb won't move, with power off it should be sat slightly open

watch the tb when power is applied, does it shut and then slightly open or open and then close ?

I seem to recall that the tb will open when the throttle is pressed when the engine is off and the ignition is on

Well I've swapped throttles around and ecu's ant it turns out the ecu is shot. Thankyou all for your help. I'm now off to cry in the corner.

what about the throttle pedal and of course the dodgy connectors behind the coolant tank ?

Its all sorted, it was the ecu not the connectors or throttle. just irritated as it was fresh mapped. Thanks for all your help to sort this one. I'll be chasing some warrantee!
