Machine Polishing...

...just been quoted £40 for full car..

,,,2 stage polishing after a full wash.

Recently noticed some nasty scratches to the rear near side panel, possibly down to crap narrow roads and hedges!!!!!!!

Ive got some mettallic T-Cut but never really got on with it. Ill give it a go in work tonight but failing that....is £40 reasonable?

Very cheap, just make sure they know what they are doing as you could end up with hologramming of the paint work if they just blast over with a rotary.

If it is someone doing it as a favour and gain exprience i would say go for it.

Always worth asking for previous work examples most detailers will have photos of previous work.

More profesional detailers normally charge £30 - £60 a hour and a car can take upto 8hrs on average.

They were doing a jag the other week... all masked up, lad said they did a Lambo the other month.....

Not that it means that much but if it was masked up and they are working on very high end cars like that then you can not go wrong at all for £40.

Bargain at that price Drakey!.. Go for it 🙂 Maybe able to pick up ideas and skills so you could try it your self next time! I machine polish mine myself now and it comes up great!

Yeah, its just down the road in North Walsham, Nr the garden center.....next time I take Kate for some MORE plants!!! Ill pretend it`s a sheltered car park and get her to take her time looking lol

Dont know how soon I can get it done...Im set on getting it done tho...tried taking some pictures of the scratches bit they don`t seem to show up when I try.
Be good for before and after pics.

Should be able to show the scratches by getting the camera to focus on the paint, and using the flash.

Ive tried but they dont seem to show up!!!!
Its probably more me being fussing as its a new-ish car, maybe when Im out next and its not so sunny I`ll give it another go.

The orange street lights are good at showing up swirls in the paint work. You could try taking a photo in the dark with the car parked under one of them?

Not great but an idea of the scratches....plus I think a scratch/paint bubble!!!!

Not great at all but on this first picture you can just make out the larger of the few on my rear OS panel, curving bottom left - up right.

What it looks like close up under the flash!!!

Smaller one in front of door handle.

...and what looks like a stone chip in the lower of the boot...raised, holed and with a scratch running across it..it`s this I slightly more concerned about!
