cruise control questions

i've got a 2001 2.2 vectra which im looking at fitting cruise control,obviously i need the c/c stalk,what i'd like to know is,do i need the clutch switch or is it already fitted ,also do i need the brake switch if not already fitted notsure.gif

hi mate you just need the clutch switch and c/c stalk and is a easy mod to do and doesnt need to be activated via a tech 2 works straight away did mine the other week

i think it was £15 mate
mine already had the 4 pin brake switch so yours should too

nice one that was cheap,there is no stalks on e bay ,there is a switch which is £18.00,ive pm'd steptoe and dave marshall but not heard back from them yet.where did you get yours from

Hi folks, I fitted a new stalk and clutch switch and (I think) mine too has the 4 pin brake switch but it doesn't work ...

I have tried fitting the clutch switch both ways round and doing the 'lift the brake pedal' trick, but it still doesn't work ...

Is it possible that some need tech 2 ? I don't want to waste my money finding out that it doesn't if you know what I mean but I'd like it to work !

Anyone in the South Yorks area with a Tech 2 want to have a look for a pack of lagers !?

thanks matey, thought that myself .. I'm sure I've seen somewhere that some needed activating but there's no real way to find out for sure, or is there ! I am in Rotherham.

mine wont work till i get to around 35 -40 mph then activates

your cruise con only need activating via tech 2 when your ecu hasnt been upgraded by vx when in for service

everytime my vec 2.2 went for service at vx dealer in wellingborough they always upgraded the ecu software
some dealers dont bother as most customers dont know about it

when i fitted cc to my vec (2001/y) it worked straight away
the same with my zafira 2.2 (2001/x)
my astra came with cruise as std

Mine seems to work below 20mph, not that theres much call for it at that speed lol.
Ive fitted it to 3 vectras without a problem (X, Y and 51 reg), just plug and play.

Its the clutch pedal that sometimes needs to be lifted up if its not working

Hello there fellas.

I'm a total novice to all this but i am really interested in fitting c/c to my 2001/Y SRI 150. Are there any diagram threads to look at - what do the pedal switches look like - and do you have to go to vauxhall or can you go to a back street techy for them to activate it. I've seen on ebay a couple of stalkes up for sale for around £26 (all in) but can't find any switches...

Hmmm... did the clutch pedal but it's not having it. Either I've done it wrong, there's a faulty part, or my ECU needs updating which sounds even MORE expensive. Oh well, I might have to leave it not working which is a shame unless anyone in the Rotherham area or near can have a look and get it working for a pack of Stellas !!

no need for a tech2 for vectra b's with the 2.2 engine fitted

seen a 2.2 vectra ls work plug and play

try disconnecting the battery for an hour and try it

could be a stored code stopping it from working

is the clutch switch fitted correctly, they are very awkward to fit, try removing the air duct as that gives more room
