checking valve timing?

Is it possible to remove the cam cover and visibly see if the cams are lined up correctly with any other timing marks?

Not a single idea of this engine so excuse my ignorance

should be a coloured link on your chain and it should align with the triangle shape on the exhaust sprocket [10am] and the same on your inlet sprocket but at 2pm

and on your crankshaft sprocket should have an aligning mark and should be in line with another coloured link [ 4pm]

so in theory all 3 line up at same time then your timing should be oki but it doesn't mean your tensioner is fubar or your oil jet is blocked

but they only line up once in several hundred revolutions like that 🙂

put the crank pulley in "tdc" positions and then you need the cam locking tool to tell for sure 🙁
