vec c knocking noise

hi all as title i have a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car and its doing my head in has any other vec c owners had this it sounds like the exhaust or rear bushes and i have very slight wear on the inside edge of the rear tyres any ideas anyone cheers

With the car on the ground, grab hold of the top of the rear wheel with both hands and move in and out if you get movement then the rear arms are worn...quite common. Next check the rear springs as they break...very common. If you have a full service history, lowish mileage and the car`s 5 years old then vxl will make a contribution.

hi there joey cheers for the reply the cars a 52 plate but it has got full service history was quoted £278 for labour and then parts seems abit steep to me for a few bushes still thats vauxhall.the rear tyres are starting to show wear on the inside edge on the rear could this point to a certain bush or am i gonna have to check them all

The camber on the rears is very common with sport suspension. The bangs and crashes can be caused by loads of things, from missing welds in the C pillar (think thats a recall on early C's) to miss aligned boot striker plate. The fronts are the common springs to snap, the rears tend to hold there own. The main failure are the rear shocks (replace with B4's whether you run sports or LS spec) and the rear control arms. HTH

so possible control arm bush as i looked at the rear anti roll bar bushes(d shape)and they looked like they were brand new

The front anti roll bar bushes do go and the front drop links seam to go around 30k, the rear roll bar bushes don't seam as bad.
