hi all
well ive finally stripped the vectra enging down to the block
and ive removed the astra head though it looks like the water has been in the pots for a while

when i stripped the vectra engine down i found the chain looked like the newer type but didnt seem to be fitted the right way

is this right or wrong
as i thought chain can only fit one way ?????
ive now got to take all the valves out of the astra head and check/replace naff ones
though i do have a set in the vectra head or may just buy new
the inlet ones in the astra head are rusty from where the water has been sitting
other than this i did find it a nightmare to get the bottom chain cover off the astra while still in the car
couple of design flaws me thinks and all for 2 bolts
i will be rebuilding this engine over the next couple of weeks
now for other questions i have
i know its more than likly already on here so if any one can just point me in right direction
both engines seem to have old oil jet so whats the part number for newer one
does anyone have a set of instructions for the timing
last but not least how the hell does the chain go back on
(ill figure it out eventually or use brute force) lmao
