vocky I had a chat with Dr Lee a few weeks ago, he pointed out that the cometic head gasket and the saab turbo head gaskets were almost idetical. Having seen both I can confirm that the £35 saab turbo B207L head gasket does appear almost identical to the cometic, so next time you have the head off use the saab head gasket cheers..
Muncher83 Bollocks, I've just realised I've bought a z22se head gasket for my LSJ engine, doh. What are the differences?
alanoo the z22se gasket is thicker Normally, all gaskets from this family are MLS ones, so pretty similar to the Cometic ones How is the Saab one different to the Z22SE one ?
vocky I don't have a standard gasket to compare to, but the saab is a triple layer and riveted together. I'm sure (but possibly wrong) that the standard is two layers ?
luki244 they are 2layers mate 🙂 co where can I get that gasket vocky coz im gona put supercharger into my veccy as soon as I will recive that kit from USA 🙂
JohnnyN allecotec in America will be able to supply one or as above you should be able to source one from the UK. Are you going down the old way and lowering compression or are you going with the new way of having standard compression?
mandarinvx Is there a reason for 'Cheap SC Head Gasket' I presume this would also be fine in NA form notsure.gif
mandarinvx Sounds good - I already have some parts on order from Saab, so I'll add it to the list - I don't suppose you have a part number notsure.gif 😃
exmantaa vocky said: it's designed for more power, but would also lower the compression slightly too Thought the LSJ/SAAB gasket was thinner than the standard 2,2 gasket, so raising compression?

mandarinvx I've managed to get hold of a 2006 Saab Electronic Parts Catalogue It seems the head gasket is used on the B207E, B207L and B207R engines - the part number is 93 175 913 If anyone needs any other part numbers let me know 🙂

mandarinvx Yep, PM me your address  Unfortunately you have to install the entire program (the install is in German, but you can change the language of the interface once it's installed 🙂 ) just to access a few pages of useful info 😃
