Will Exhaust Manifold from z22yh fit z22se?

Hey, first post 🙂
I've got a 2001 2.2 Astra, with a cracked exhaust manifold. I've found a 2005 2.2 Vectra C at a local scrappy, and was wondering if the exhaust manifold is a straight swap?

As far as I'm aware, the only differences are the YH has direct injection, and black plastic cam covers.

Will the manifold go straight on? Should I get the gasket and bolts aswell, or go for new ones? The Vectra's done 31k...

I think the main cat is next to the cast manifold on the z22yh, so the downpipe fitting is different

What if I take the cat aswell then? Could that be an option? Or as much of the exhaust as I need to fit what i have? How far back would I need to go?

then you would need to have the center sction of pip too but as its off a vectra it would not fit on the astra m8

some one has a z22se exhaust mani forsale in the classifieds. I would just get a direct fit.

The cat is part of the manifold, you cannot devide them. You can fit the manifold/cat without problems, but have to modify the downpipe of the C. There is no problem with die direct injection, the Vectra C Z22SE has the same manifold/cat.

a new manifold is about £100 at the dealers

Yea all one unit, but as a little bonus, no pre cat. Just a thought, could you fill the take off for the EGR with weld while its off?

Is there any point blocking the EGR off? As far as i'm aware, it isn't causing a problem...

Oh, and does anyone know if the manifold from a VX220 will fit ok? Being that it's mid engined and all... :wtf:

the vx220 shares the same z22se exhaust manifold as the astra/ vectraB / zafira

Ha, fair enough. I'll look into getting that done too then.

And to save starting a new thread...I've been quoted £300 for parts and labour fitting a timing chain after hours by a friend of a friend at vaux, and he'll need it for 2 days. Does that sound reasonable?

parts cost about £125, so £300 fitted is a good price
