Seat leon Cupra R

Just been looking at these.

I know the engine is used is many other cars VW / Audi / Skoda.

But does anyone know when the cambelt needs doing on these and what the turbos are like seen many golfs and octavias with high mileage on these engines.

What are the other running costs like dunno..

Just having a look around. I fancy a change but doubt the astra is worth anything so it may be worth me keeping it, i just dont know and the Clio although we love it is slightly small so just looking at the moment.

The Astra is clean for it's age and mileage but it's getting on a bit now and has a few stone chips on the front and it certainly isnt swirl free 🙁 .

I'd have a Cupra R. They look great! Easily tuned to over 225bhp at little cost.

I like the Cupra mate, very good cars.

I was looking at the new Leon myself the other day actually, was considering getting one next year instead of the VXR if i decide to upgrade. As much as i love the VXR it hasn't got 5 doors and the new leon has.

We're like you, Claire has got a clio and i've got the Astra 🙂 Its a pain in the a*se sometime messing about with the car seat with a three door.

My Astra is ticking over to 62K now and its getting on a bit, 2001 so 8 years old. I may keep it though even if i do get a new car and get rid of Claire's clio instead 🙂 Although that's got half the mileage on it mine has!

I`ve always prefered a 2 door with the little-un. Seat folded fwd, set in and use the back of the seat to rest on whilst strapping the brat in.
Had to be really carefull loading Courtney in to the Vectra, and leaning across as they get heavier does nothing for your back.
After placing her in and out of Kates little 2 door Fiat, she had no problems when we went for a 2 door again as our main car.

We are very similar with cars then Andy, like you know the clio hasnt really got a big boot. I was looking at Toyota T-Sports all seem like low mileage cars but boy is there some nails out there.

This is the one i may go and look at.

Yeah the clio boot is tiny, we've got the Quinny Buzz pram and the wheels have to come off for it to fit in the boot! Bit of a pain in the a*se for Claire when she goes out anywhere.

That looks a very nice example mate, good colour too. There aren't many five door cars i like tbh but the Leon is very nice indeed.

Youve got the same pram as us as well and yes removing the wheels is right pain.

Just found that the 2 doors always have a much longer door also, I sometime make a happy fun-filled trip to Norwich with Courtney in her car seat, Kieran whos 16 and Yaz whos 13.

my mate has just bought a mint 55 plate in black, the guy he bought it from never drove it in the wet, it looks brand new 8)

Lol! What colour did you get!?
Decent pram just the width takes a bit of getting used to! I dismantled a display in Boots the other day, one of those cardboard ones full off tablets and stuff. completely misjudged the space and clobbered it with one of the pram wheels on my way through...the whole display went everywhere! :oops: :lol: :lol:

It was mate...and very embaressing, it was right behind a queue of people waiting at the tills! lol!
