Hello all.
Having just discovered this brilliant forum, I hope you good people out there can help me with this timing chain tensioner problem I have.
My 2.2 Vectra SRI 150(51 plate) is currently in the local VX dealers lying in bits ! They say the problem is the timing chain tensioner. Now, having read the numerous posts re timing chain problems that a lot of forum members have had, I am wondering if my symptoms are related to the same problem.
I have quoted Field Remedy 1532 to VX customer care but to no avail. They're just not inteested because the car is 8 years old blah blah blah. I did expect this standard response from them so I was ready to go to plan B. I contacted the VX garage where my car is lying and asked for a detailed report about what was wrong with the car , how it happened and could they keep the Lubrication Nozzle for me to inspect so it would assist my claim.
"It's not the lubrication nozzle" I was told. "It's the Tensioner". Apparently the chain has not snapped ?
Can anyone tell me if the lubrication nozzle problem is related in any way to the tensioner ?
Can I still persue my claim using the undersized lubrication nozzle as causing the damage to the tensioner ? Or is the tensioner a seperate problem ?
I appreciate any help you can give.
Cheers
Drew
