These little cars seem very quick, I think one will beat my Gsi off the mark as one today pulled away from me today, then I caught up. What do you make of them? I am sure they are only 150Bhp notsure.gif

I am not surprised that they are quick off the mark after looking at the spec between the two...

Yes, Diesels are very good for quick get aways from standing still, great torque 🙂. Once I get the Astra mapped it should be alot quicker off the mark 🙂

They are good my mate has had a Mk4 one and a MK5.
I think mark 4's where 110 / 130 / 150 bhp the Mk5's 140 / 170 bhp.

Easy an extra 30bhp and a shed load more torque from a map.

One of my pals has just got a new BMW coupe Diesel standard 204bhp and then with a map 255.

There must be something wrong with your car if a Diesel Golf can keep up!

Not keep up mate, just get away from a standing still quicker. I will get past it easy enough 🙂

I'm quite surprised that the Golf pulled away from yours Mark, off the line diesels aren't usually that quick, just look at the difference in the 0-60 times. It's the in-gear speed where you'd have struggled. Unless the Golf was mapped etc??

Could have been. I have driven one of those Golf's before and they are sure quick, I drove a 6 speed one and it spun in first and second gear.
