Hi there!
Despite many out there sucking through their teeth and blowing when you tell them you have a car with the Z22SE engine, I think that it is an excellent engine with huge potential. 😃
First it is a lightweight (148Kg) and reasonably compact unit, which as we all know has a serious benefit to the handling and preformance of the car, and with the correct maintanence will provide to be a reliable unit, plus in it's low state of tune (145bhp) it is relatively unstressed.
Rant over!
Through many hours of research I have managed to get hold of the GM performance catalogue here ,http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/Parts/catalog.jsp and in this catalogue they list a CNC ported street head for the Ecotec engine, along with rod, blank cams, piston and crankshaft packages.
Here I have a few questions: Does anyone have any experience of these products?
I am also researching into an exhaust system for my car, which is a 2.2 Bertone Astra Coupe, and I see a lot of systems listed for the hatch, but not my car, will the system fit my car, or will it have to be modified?
With the Piper manifold, I noticed that where it has a good primary length, the manifold simply becomes a 4-1, with no secondary length, whereas the Friedrich item has very long primaries, what effect does this have on power?
Any replies greatly appreciated cheers..
