dbilas inlet manifold

Is the dbilas inlet manifold any good? I haven't seen much of it ther than some outrageous claims. All the pictures are very small and poor quality too so the mystery is just eating me up! Can anyone shed any light on it please?

i have never seen on fitted to the z22se but i have to the 1.8 and that mad a really good gain for about 17bhp but for almost 1k i would want more tbh lol

Correct Danny and i haven't got the 30bhp they claim either! Not bad gains mind but not worth the money although to be fair i haven't got the dbilas map.

FLD if your interested in all things dbilas speak to Ian at midpoint garage, he's got a 2.2 coupe which is very nice indeed, dbilas inlet, dbilas exhaust manifold, dbilas cams, dbilas flowmaster and much much more...very nice motor. Not sure of the exact figures but i'm sure its producing around 220bhp.

Yeah, too much money! I'd love to make something similar at a sensible price! I can do the maths for the volumes etc but a few more pics would be really handy so I get all the bosses etc in.

What sort of pics do you need? I can take a few more of mine on the car...don't think i can be bothered taking it off though.

On the car is just fine, I wouldn't expect you to have to mess around for me to tinker! I just need to know what bosses, take-offs there are, things like that. Just a few pics round and about it. Should come in cheap for a bare casting.

the 2.4 inlet manifold is just as good, maybe better than the dbilas

as the 2.4 inlet can be bought for under £100 (see the classified section) the expensive dbilas is not worth 10 times the cost !

I'd have to disagree with that purely on the basis that i've got one and mine is the best showo.. :wink:

Although i'd have to agree with you there, its not worth the cost...it would be if you actually got the gains they claim though!

If I could churn them out at 100 ish for a bare casting would that be any good?

Certainly better than circa £1100 for a genuine dbilas!!

Yeah. I've done a few castings like this in the past. Thought it might be a good option.

If you think you can churn them out why not buy a proper one too get it perfect. Sell on your copies keep or sell the original, still quids in?
